What is TEPR?

Trans-Epidermal Pigment Release (TEPR®) is a non-laser tattoo removal technique used by Tatt2Away. This innovative method focuses on removing tattoo ink through the epidermis, rather than relying on traditional laser treatments that require the body’s lymphatic system to process and remove the ink.

Tatt2Away treatments utilise specialised equipment, including a handpiece with a sterile disposable TEPR brush cartridge and a proprietary TEPR solution. The handpiece allows for precise application of the solution and controlled abrasions, facilitating the release of ink particles from the skin. This targeted method ensures effective removal while minimising damage to surrounding tissues, making it a safer alternative to traditional laser treatments.

How TEPR Works at the Cellular Level

Tatt2Away’s TEPR (Trans-Epidermal Pigment Release) technique involves making small, controlled, strategic abrasions in a dot pattern to expose the dermis. TEPRSOL, a 100% natural solution, is then applied over the abraded area to disrupt the ink particles embedded in the dermis. TEPRSOL contains ingredients that naturally exist in the human body, helping to loosen the bonds between the tattoo ink and the dermis.

After each session, the body’s natural healing process begins. As the skin heals, it expels the disrupted ink particles through the epidermis, forming a debris scab. The ink is removed from the body when the scab naturally falls off, revealing fresh ink-free skin.

New skin cells regenerate after the scabs fall off, replacing the old cells that contained the tattoo ink. This process gradually removes the tattoo, with more ink expelled in each subsequent session until the whole tattoo has been erased.
